When flying to South Florida, visitors
have three airport entry options: Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale
Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).
MIA is by far the busiest airport and it is the primary airport serving the South
Florida area. However, FLL can be considered an option if you are visiting North
Miami or the Fort Lauderdale area. PBI is located a few miles west of West Palm
Beach and can be a convenient option if you are traveling to Palm Beach County as
well as nearby Martin and St. Lucie counties. The airport is usually sparsely populated
so getting in and out is usually much quicker than major airports. However, there
are fewer flights serving this airport so it is not a main entry point for most
Once on the ground, there are a variety of transportation options available to take
you to your hotel.
